Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester County including emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.We are in search of new talent for the following position:IT Application Manager
is responsible for managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, systems, and networks. Day-to-day responsibilities consist of: Active Directory user management, planning, design, and deployment of robust IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network components, and cloud-based solutions; being the point of escalation for all engineers; and maintaining communication with customers and technical teams. Responsibilities also include overseeing patch management, compliance, and incident response, providing site and application documentation, and successfully completing special projects as assigned by managers.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, MIS, or equivalent discipline with 7+ years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory design and management, IT infrastructure management, system administration along with Windows desktop, server level 2 support, or satisfactory combination of education and experience.Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.Team player with detail-oriented and strong problem-solving capabilities, able to work on multiple, concurrent tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.Ability to take initiative and respond to time-sensitive situations, along with discretion and good sense in dealing with clients.REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:
A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365 Administrator.IT Application Manager Principal Responsibilities:Lead the planning, design, and deployment of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network components, and cloud-based solutions.Mitigate risks and identify security measures to safeguard data, networks, and systems from potential threats and breaches, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high availability of the IT infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.Lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of various operating systems, applications, and databases.Provide expert technical support to resolve complex IT issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed. Respond to and resolve all escalated desktop, server, and network issues. Serve as the point of escalation for all Tier 1/2 engineers providing support and technical expertise.Expert level management and monitoring of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Shares, Antivirus, and backup servers. Patch management of servers and workstations in the domain.Create and maintain standard operating procedures and client-related documentation. Assist the Director of Information Technology with program site upgrades or IT requirements for new building construction.Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential benefits to the organization.
