Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job DescriptionAre you a seasoned Senior Cloud Platform Engineer passionate about driving innovation in automotive technology? Join us at the forefront of the OnStar Services Atmos Platform Team, where you will lead and collaborate with dynamic teams of developers to build and manage shared platform solutions, contributing significantly to the OnStar Transformation effort.Responsibilities:Lead and collaborate with talented teams of developers in designing, implementing, and managing shared platform solutions aligned with the OnStar Transformation effort.Focus on enabling back-end services across the OnStar ecosystem, applying standard patterns supporting the Twelve-Factor Microservice methodology.Leverage both public and private cloud environments to ensure a robust and scalable infrastructure.Requirements:6+ years building and operating scalable and reliable platforms for global customer SaaS offerings in production.Strong Linux administration experience.Solid understanding of Container Orchestration, with a preference for expertise in Kubernetes.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform.Expertise in designing and engineering highly-available public cloud services, with a preference for Azure IaaS/PaaS.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs, and solutions.Creative problem-solving skills delivering elegant solutions to complex issues.Strong teamwork focus, emphasizing a "live by the team, die by the team" philosophy, and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams.Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.Experience using Git source control for rebases, merges, and handling merge conflicts.Desirables:Experience with open-source, cloud-native products supporting complex applications and services (e.g., Service Mesh, Service Discovery, Routing, Logging Infrastructure, CI/CD tools, etc.).Experience in multi-region platform development.Utilization of various Azure Services to host production-grade solutions.Note: GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
