This role reflects Evident’s increased focus on Digital Pathology. In this field-based role, you will lead the Digital Pathology sales effort. In addition to closing sales, you will perform account qualification and management, lead installations and demonstrations, troubleshoot, and provide customer training for all Evident Digital Pathology (DP) solutions. You will work directly with clinicians and research scientists to offer Evident digital pathology solutions, advanced applications, and workflow products for whole slide imaging.The Digital Pathology Sales Applications Specialist is responsible for executing a successful sales strategy for rapid revenue growth and new market development within the assigned territory of the USA. The position will require an individual that is proactive, has independent initiative and skills, while working within the existing sales team environment. The candidate should have a history of experience with complex capital equipment and/or healthcare product sales (including an IT component) within the target market.Understanding clinicians, their workflows, and clinician goals for digital pathology will be critical to sales success. This position has presales conversations with multiple call points that could include scientific leaders such as Department Heads, Scientists, Chief of Pathology/Medical Directors, Laboratory Administrative Directors, and/or IT/Networking/LIS leaders such as Chief Information Officers.Job Duties

Drive and close sales opportunities for Evident digital pathology systems by qualifying each lead and managing all sales opportunities. Schedule on-site and reference-site demonstrations for potential customers.Quote and close each sales opportunity, working in concert with the local sales team.Develop overall territory and strategic account business plans, including identification and prioritization of key target accounts/customers/KOL’s.Build action plans necessary to create and close opportunities in targeted accounts within the USA.Build strong customer relationships necessary to identify the decision makers and understand the decision-making process at each customer location. Leverage these relationships to close sales.Engage all customer stakeholders in the sales process, including pathologists, lab managers, IT managers, and procurement in cooperation with the local sales team and product management.Interface frequently with other departments to provide seamless support to customers and the field sales organization.Understand tender requirements and ensure the response is the correct approach to match the tender request and win sales opportunities.Support development of workflow solutions in the field of digital pathology involving the lab manager, TA, pathologists, IT managers, etc.Provide detailed reports and pipeline reviews for sales management and marketing leadership. Reports will include the development of market share, activities of competitors, trends, and market developments in the USA.Participate in trade shows and exhibitions.Job Requirements

Education:Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent sales experience required.Experience:Minimum two years’ experience in high end capital equipment sales, laboratory management, or service.Experience in demonstrating products and closing sales in the Digital Pathology market is preferred.Skills:Excellent selling/presentation skills, relationship building, negotiating, closing and account management skills.Strong understanding of business and laboratory operations in a clinical laboratory.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to analyse situations, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Capacity for strategic thinking/planning as well as tactical implementation.Strong computer skills (i.e., Windows based OS and system driver installation, skilled with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-mail).Knowledge of Anatomical Pathology, Histology, and laboratory services is strongly desired.Experience with LIS or LIMS systems is highly preferred.Experience in training Pathologists and other healthcare users in Digital Pathology at an expert level.Must be willing to travel as necessary, including occasional weekends. Travel 50% or more.
