GAI Consultants Inc. Senior EIT 2 (Power Generation) - Bridgeport, West Virginia
GAI Consultants, Inc. (GAI) is seeking a Senior EIT 2 to work out of our Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, Cranberry, or Canonsburg/Southpointe), West Virginia (Bridgeport or Charleston), or Virginia (Richmond or Warrenton) offices, with an option to work remotely while based out of one of those office locations. Under the direction of a Geotechnical Engineering Manager, this individual will provide geotechnical engineering and project site support for projects in the Energy, Transportation, and Community Development business units. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform geotechnical engineering assignments involving investigations for a variety of facilities including, but not limited to: foundations for transmission lines, buildings, roadways, bridges, retaining walls, dams, and other structures.Prepare geotechnical engineering designs involving: rock/soil slope stability; cut slope and fill embankment design; landslide stabilization and remediation; geotechnical field instrumentation; soil reinforcement and ground improvement techniques; sheet pile/retaining walls; shallow and deep foundations.Provide geotechnical investigation and construction support services including test boring monitoring and logging, site reconnaissance, and construction monitoring and inspection.Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, calculations, specifications, and reports.Travel can be expected in the form of fieldwork, which can be daily local travel or weekly out-of-town travel, generally located in the Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia areas (up to 50%).Physical Requirements:
The candidate can be expected to traverse steep terrain and carry up to 50 lbs.Minimum Years of Experience:
6+Education:
B.S. or M.S. EngineeringCertification/Licensure:
