is seeking a

Systems Security Engineer (Security Engineering, Senior Analyst)

to support a Federal Government client at a Dahlgren, VA location. The role involves using a challenging, offensive mindset to provide defensive security architecture solutions to our nation’s weapons and control systems.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform programmatic or technical roles identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems and guide the engineering development of modern complex systems; and to employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.

Research, design, develop, or test computer or computer-related equipment for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use.

May supervise the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.

Participate in the formulation of processes and policies necessary for the execution of the system security engineering for new and established acquisition programs.

Analyze cyber and cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and directives to develop technical requirements for acquisition documentation.

Participate in the development of the Program Protection Plan (PPP), cybersecurity strategy and associated requirements documentation that serves as the framework for key engineering activities.

Support the analysis of the system design and development data including performance predictions, testability analysis, failure modes, and product support.

Support the program planning in SSE, cyber warfare, cybersafe, software assurance and cybersecurity design implementation in acquisition programs.

Obtain and analyze all data items as the results of the cyber survivability risk assessment (CSRA), cyber tabletop (CTT), Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment to ascertain the systems potential to meet the cyber requirements IAW DoD policies, instructions and directives.

Make system design recommendations and tradeoffs within the program cost/schedule & performance.

Serve as a Technical Review Board (TRB) member for systems technical events providing cyber/SSE expertise.

Travel

10% - 15% to other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications

5 years of relevant experience in related cyber and system security engineering

Knowledge and direct experience in cyber/SSE and anti-tamper relating to airborne weapon systems and platforms.

Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes and applications.

Ability to work in a diverse team environment.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, interpersonal and people skills, leadership skills, listening skills, multi-tasking ability, communication skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge and experience in DoD Systems Acquisition Life Cycle (SALC).

Knowledge and applications of Cyber M&S and S/W assurance tools.

Knowledge and applications of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.

Education

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current

Top-Secret

clearance; please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $110,000 - $150,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package.
