Technology Development and Transition Engineer
in Dayton, OH.MTSI is seeking a Technology Development and Transition Engineer who will provide software and systems engineering expertise to the Government customer and make recommendations of key technologies to transition to the warfighter. The individual and the AFRL team will coordinate technology development efforts among industry and multiple mission partners.How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:As a Technology Development and Transition Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for providing software and systems engineering to the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). www.mtsi-va.com .Responsibilities:Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:Provide software and systems engineering expertise to the Government customer and make recommendations of key technologies to transition to the warfighter.Work with the technical lead and engineering team to improve technical decisions and assist in identifying and mitigating risk to the program.Monitor contract deliverable status and milestone schedules, status reports, and contractual performance to ensure timeliness, accuracy of information/situation depicted, report inconsistencies, and aid in the development of acquisition strategies.Support the identification of capability gaps and commonalities between emerging technologies, identify issues with transitioning technology to the warfighter, and recommend solutions to address those issues.Analyze requirements, coordinate interagency working groups, and coordinate inputs from numerous sources.Coordinate with project engineers, program managers, technical leadership, and other contractor personnel.Review and edit reports and briefings and support the technology development team in creating roadmaps to submit to the leadership team for approval.Coordinate with consortium members, assist the test and analysis team in reviewing test plans to submit to the lead project engineer, and support organizations to facilitate successful ground and flight tests, as well as conduct post-mission analysis.Work closely with program managers, lead project engineers, and program teams.Analyze program requirements, attend design reviews, and evaluate plans for system assembly, testing, and demonstration.Provide technical inputs during contractor design, test, and readiness reviews to facilitate on-time and fully-capable deliveries.Up to 20% travel in support of testing and technical interface exchange meetings.Qualifications:Qualifications Required:Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.Experience developing technology within AFRL, acquiring weapons systems at AFLCMC, supporting HQ AF or equivalent mission execution, working air and/or space, and/or cyber domains, and operating in highly-classified environments.Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems.Familiarity with Cloud-based software technology.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong attention to detail and analytic acumen.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.Good interpersonal skills in an environment with top tier coworkers.Education:• Education: Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related technical field. A Master's degree in a similar field is highly desired.Even better if you have these desired skills:Experience providing technical and support to DoD technology development efforts.Experience with requirements analysis, requirements definition and verification, technology planning, air or space vehicle and systems design, systems integration, and advanced testing.Experience with risk management as projects transition from initial designs to Critical Design Review, build, and demonstration.Clearance Requirements:• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
