In this position, you’ll be responsible for developing and refining design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for a wide range of traffic projects. Working closely with the project manager, you'll dive into research, calculations, and design, ensuring successful project outcomes.As an Engineer III - Traffic you will apply advanced engineering techniques and leverage your technical expertise to handle projects of varying complexity, using the latest tools and software to create both conceptual and detailed designs. This role also provides opportunities to mentor and guide junior engineers, providing valuable feedback to help them excel.Join us and play a key role in shaping the future of traffic engineering for HNTB’s diverse clients!What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.Assist in the development of project specifications.Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.Performs quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables.Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, orMaster’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, orPhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.What You'll Bring:
Develops plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates for engineering projects.Responsible for capacity analyses, traffic modeling/simulation, operational studies, and traffic signal warrant studies.Accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects.Work closely and collaborate regularly with project team members.Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.Meet schedule milestones, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks on assigned projects.Contribute to the delivery of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects and emerging mobility solutions.Assists Senior Engineers and Project Managers with management of design review process.Demonstrate clear written and oral communication skills in the production of plans, reports, studies, and presentations.What We Prefer:
Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
