Project Engineer:This position will start in one of four areas: Estimating, Field Operation, Safety or Project Management. Findorff’s program is designed to ensure each Project Engineer is exposed to many areas of construction, with the plan they will be well-rounded as they enter one of three career paths: Preconstruction/Estimating, Superintendent, or Project Manager. At Findorff, we'll make sure you rub elbows with all the right folks as we help build your career.Responsibilities:Estimating/Preconstruction:
Take off and pricingBid package preparationPrepare instructions to biddersConduct bid result evaluationsContract prospective bidders utilizing bidding software or telephoneAssist estimator with bid day activitiesParticipate in project planningConduct constructability & spec reviews
Project Management:
Prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, change order proposals, monthly payment requests for review by Project Management staffPrepare, distribute and track RFI’sDistribute and track CB’s, RFP’s or other change issue documentationClose out activities including but not limited to distribution and tracking punch listsAssist Project Management staff or Superintendent with creating and/or updating project schedulePrepare and distribute progress meeting notesReview shop drawings and samples for conformance to documentsProactively manage project submittal approval processPost addenda or other changes to plans and specifications
Field Operations:
Assist jobsite Superintendent with short duration scheduling, timekeeping, etc.Order and schedule delivery of materialsParticipate in productivity initiative (track finished work to schedule/goal).Post addenda or other changes to plans and specificationsPrepare, distribute and track RFI’sDistribute and track punch listsComplete other close out requirements
Safety:
Routine safety auditsAssist with safety planning for jobsitesSee projects from the safety supervisor point of viewAttend OSHA training
