If so, Apple's Global Business Intelligence (GBI) team is seeking an experienced BI Tools Platform Engineer to build high quality, scalable and resilient distributed systems that power Apple's analytics platform. Apple's Enterprise Data warehouse landscape caters to a wide variety of real-time, near real-time and batch analytical solutions. These solutions are integral part of business functions like Sales, Operations, Finance, AppleCare, Marketing and Internet Services, enabling business drivers to make critical decisions. We demonstrate a diverse technology stacks for data analytics and visualization. Developing and maintaining these BI tools are core part of our daily job.DescriptionAs a BI Tools Platform Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for managing multiple deployments on hybrid cloud environments. The candidate will ensure reliability and resiliency of the platform. The candidate will build scripts to automate infrastructure activities, system upgrades, and governance. Collaborate with product vendors to investigate and resolve product-related issues. Administer the Tableau platform, perform platform engineering, release management, reliability engineering, infrastructure planning, health checks, and alerting.Minimum Qualifications3+ years experience with Tableau, Thoughtspot or similar tools.Experience with programming in Python and Java.Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.Demonstrate strong understanding of BI and Analytics space, with exposure to multiple tools and their use cases.Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Should be dedicated, highly motivated, and have the ability to learn quickly.Preferred QualificationsExpertise with administering Tableau server, Thoughtspot server or similar tools.Experience with IAC and cloud formation templates to automate AWS infrastructure provisioning.Experience building scripts in Python or Java to automate tasks.Experience installing and configuring BI tools with HA setup on various platforms including hybrid cloud.In-depth understanding of authentication and authorization aspects of Tableau in addition to setting up federated SSO (SAML) for user access is a plus.Experience in capacity planning, utilization reviews, and performance monitoring/tuning is a plus.Exposure to various database management systems, preferably SingleStore and Snowflake along with advanced SQL skills.Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
