Applications Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic Applications Engineer to join our team based in Tiffin, Ohio. In this role, you will have the opportunity to diversify your skill set through engaging with various engineering procedures including estimating and quoting. Ideal candidates should have a strong mechanical aptitude and be eager to take on challenges in a multifaceted OEM environment. This position will allow you to work on multiple projects, interfacing with sales, design, and production teams to support a team-oriented culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create engineering concepts based on customer requirements supplied by the sales team.

Determine estimates for production costs and create customer quotes for both standard and custom equipment.

Assist in vendor qualification processes alongside the purchasing department.

Communicate with customers to address any queries related to quotes or estimates.

Finalize cost estimates, generate essential documentation, and facilitate project kick-offs.

Operate within the company's ERP system to run various reports.

Employ 3D modeling software for basic design layouts.

Visit customers during the Request for Quote (RFQ) stage in collaboration with sales and engineering team members.

Handle additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.

At least 2-4 years of experience in engineering or a related estimator role.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Proficiency in 3D modeling.

Proactive desire to pursue a career in applications engineering.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working for an OEM or in machining environments.

Background in skilled trades.

Experience with estimating and quoting processes.

Knowledge of Solid Edge software.

Ability to perform technical writing tasks.

Skills:

Detail orientation with strong organizational skills.

Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication skills to interact at various levels within the organization.
