We have an exciting opening for a Senior SAP Solution Architect with the opportunity to work remote from AR, OK, TX, ME, MO, FL, SC, TN, LA, KS, NJ, NY or MA.
POSITION SUMMARY:The primary objectives for the Sr. SAP Solution Architect are the health, stability, security, and scalability of SAP systems, the engagement and satisfaction of internal SAP customers, and the optimization of SAP investments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing end-to-end SAP solutions that align with business goals and technological strategies. As the Sr. SAP Solution Architect, you will work closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and business leaders to deliver innovative, scalable, and cost-effective SAP and other solutions. You will ensure the effective integration of SAP systems with existing IT infrastructure and other third-party applications, supporting digital transformation, optimization, and cloud focus efforts. This role also aid in the Solution Architecture for all of Summit’s systems and integrated products. A strong customer service-oriented mindset is essential.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design & Architecture:
Develop and implement SAP architecture, design and future-back strategies that align with business goals and IT roadmaps.
Define the overall architecture, identify and evaluate risks; and perform assessments and gap analysis; Consider options and tradeoffs.
Create end-to-end SAP solutions and ensure technical integrity and functionality across various platforms.
Ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and secure while meeting performance and budgetary goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for SAP solutions. Help with the implementation (including hands-on work if necessary).
Collaboration:
Lead the architecture, design and implementation of the platforms, solutions, integration etc. ensuring scalability, security, maintainability, and performance.
Collaborate with developers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Mentor and guide team members.
Oversee the architecture and CoE compliance of solution delivery, from inception to post-implementation support.
Lead and guide system migrations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization of applications, especially SAP.
Manage the technical aspects of SAP systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of the environment.
Drive automation initiatives for SAP processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce manual efforts.
Integration & Cloud:
Develop SAP integration solutions with third-party applications, cloud services, and on-premises systems using tools such as SAP CC, SAP CPI, and other middleware solutions.
Provide expertise in integrating SAP with cloud platforms such as Azure, and Google Cloud, ensuring a hybrid environment's seamless functionality.
Work on SAP cloud adoption strategies (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Cloud) and lead cloud migrations as required.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
Align with the organization's business strategy & goals as well as their data & technology landscape.
Identify and define business capabilities to guide target architecture.
Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams, developers, and business analysts to design and implement cohesive SAP solutions.
Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in SAP and emerging technologies, keeping up with the latest developments, trends, and best practices.
Work closely with IT leadership to develop Enterprise technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with broader IT strategies and business objectives.
Governance, Risk & Compliance:
Implement security, governance, and compliance controls for SAP systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal policies.
Drive and own the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for platform implementation.
Lead disaster recovery planning, high availability, and performance optimization efforts for SAP landscapes.
Ensure enterprise applications architectures meet compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, SOX, etc.
Project Management & Stakeholder Communication:
Lead and participate in SAP projects, including system implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
Work closely with project management teams to ensure SAP projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on SAP architecture, systems health, and project progress creating long-term relationships and achieve a strong reputation as a trusted advisor for all Enterprise Architecture topics.
Documentation & Training:
Manage reference architecture patterns, methodologies, processes, workflows.
Establish and enforce platform standards, coding practices, and guidelines.
Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices.
Prepare detailed documentation on solution architecture, integration design, and configuration.
Ensure the knowledge transfer and training of IT teams and end-users on SAP systems and best practices.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or Engineering is preferred or combination of education and equivalent experience. MBA and/or project management certifications such as PMP, PMI, SCRUM a plus.
10+ years of experience in SAP architecture, with a focus on S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
5+ years in IT solution architecture, with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing SAP solutions.
Experience with SAP integration tools (SAP CC, CPI) and middleware platforms.
Deep understanding of SAP cloud solutions and hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience in SAP upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects, including S/4HANA migrations.
Familiarity with SAP security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
5+ years’ experience leading senior level ERP technical resources and ERP support.
2+ years’ experience with large scale SAP S/4HANA design, implementation, and support or equivalent scale ERP platforms.
2+ years’ experience deploying SAP or equivalent ERP systems in the cloud preferably on Azure or AWS.
Track record of moving on-premise technology stacks to the cloud a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Strong expertise in SAP system architecture, cloud integration, and infrastructure.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and tools (e.g., TOGAF).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work with stakeholders at various levels.
Certifications in SAP architecture, cloud platforms, or project management (PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
Friendly and effective communication skills are a must.
