Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Network—Network Engineer III (24-339) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Colorado Springs, CO. area.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
Essential Functions:
Primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program.
Responsible for learning how to plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network to operational sites and help where needed.
Basic Qualifications:
An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
5 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 3 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
Must start with a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
Candidate must have demonstrable knowledge and skills for the following:
Network design, development, and testing methodologies.
OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
Network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Firewall knowledge in Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
Multi-vendor switching routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
Thrive in a collaborative and agile environment.
Occasional travel to remote locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, etc., to perform network installations, troubleshoot, deployments, and provide status updates to program personnel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret clearance is highly desired.

Salary Range:
$88,600 - $133,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
