This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting software applications that integrate production equipment with PLCs for data acquisition and storage, recipe database management, process monitoring, and generating summary reports of key operational parameters. Additionally, the role involves managing communication and interface between the corporate EBS system and the Cressona Plant. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.Required Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalentProficient in developing C# and VB.NET applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, with expertise in SQL Server management via SQL Server Management Studio.Experience in developing and deploying SCADA systems (e.g., Rockwell FactoryTalk), with the ability to interface with PLCs, create data tags, and collect data.Strong analytical, communication, computer, and leadership skills; adaptable to change and a self-starter with proven problem-solving abilities.Leads with a "safety first" mentality, ensuring alignment with Hydro standards and holding the team accountable to BA, BU, and local safety requirements.Demonstrates a total quality management approach and fosters team collaboration for continuous improvement.Documents existing and new applications/procedures and trains production employees and equipment operators on software applications.Performs well under pressure in fast-paced environments, demonstrating creative thinking and the ability to respond quickly to challenges.Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering preferred.Additional certifications in computer-related fields are a plus.Preferred knowledge of extrusion processes, equipment, cast house operations, and automotive component manufacturing.Job Responsibilities:

Develop computer systems and applications to support production and implement best practices.Identify areas for improvement and assist in defining processes to enhance efficiency.Collaborate with controls engineers and PLC technicians to provide integrated, functional solutions.Ensure all systems and applications are functional and consistently available to users.Demonstrate strong communication skills, including proven ability in written documentation.Lead cross-functional teams with proven project management experience.Perform additional duties as assigned.At Hydro, we care about our People!We care about Safety!Hydro values diverse skills and perspectives among employees.
