Mainline partners with industry-leading solution providers and has over 1000 technical and sales certifications, including accreditation by the International Enterprise Architecture Institute (iEAi) and the CRN Tech Elite 250.The Position:The Security Architect serves as a trusted advisor to Mainline Account Executives and customers for all Security based pre-sales activities. This includes developing Security Solutions in terms of architecture, design, and requirements at the hardware, software, and services levels. Security Architect's must have strong technical acumen complemented by relationship and selling skills. Candidates will work with Account Executives, Product Systems Engineers and Mainline partners to architect, design, configure, present, and propose these solutions. The results expected from a Security Architect's involvement include the building of Mainline loyalty, increased business, strategic and innovative usage of market leading technologies, and higher customer satisfaction.The role of the Security Architect is to provide architectural and complex solution advice and support that enables a customer to confidently accelerate purchase and deployment decisions. This guidance should help the customer realize return on their IT investment and view Mainline as their primary technology solution partner.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeam with the Account Executive(s) in the Region they support to expand the Mainline business in their accounts and potentially develop new accounts.Have a working knowledge of the industries and companies they support.Partner with the Cybersecurity community, or other sales communities as appropriate, as their Technical Partner.Have advanced knowledge in the Cybersecurity industry.Experience in leading end to end Cybersecurity design solutions.Represent the partner's 'point of view' to the customer.Design and architect solutions for customers that integrate multiple solutions and services.Have a solid understanding for current challenges in the Cybersecurity space from a regulatory, architectural, and operational viewpoint.Engage early in the sales cycle with recommendations on Cybersecurity technology directions.Experience deploying and managing Cybersecurity solutions including (endpoint, cloud, incident response, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, audit and compliance, etc.).Understand both the strategic marketing and technology strategy of our solution partners and use this knowledge to influence customer Cybersecurity decisions.Provide 'give back' to the profession through professional contributions: Publications, authoring technical articles or journals, and providing customer feedback to our focus solution partners.Facilitate the technical portion of a complex opportunity providing leadership in Servers, Storage, Software, Network, Cloud and Services including teaming with the greater architect community to craft end to end solutions.Mentor team members as well as be receptive to learning.Other duties as assigned.Education and/or ExperienceBA or BS degree or equivalent required.Minimum of 5 years of experience helping organizations develop, deploy, and manage Cybersecurity solutions across a wide variety of environments.Experience as a Pre-Sales Security Architect with an OEM and/or a VAR (Value Added Reseller) is desired; however, similar experience within a customer environment is viable.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills. Ability to effectively communicate solutions.CertificationsSecurity certifications are not required but would be a plus (CISSP).Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesSolution Designer - Analyze a customer's business and IT challenges and design a comprehensive solution that integrates smoothly into the customer's environment.Technology Advisor - Lead the Mainline team in promoting the applicability of the desired solution(s) in order to achieve buy-in from the customer's management and IT communities, seeking to create new opportunities as well as advance existing sales efforts.Methodologist - Lead customers and the Mainline team in selecting and employing the use of appropriate methodologies and design tools to achieve the desired business and technical results.Facilitator - Be a leader in fostering communication among customer, partner and Mainline teams.Project Advisor - Lead the Mainline team in ensuring that the business vision has been satisfied through the design, adapting to inevitable design compromises and modified nonfunctional requirements, suggesting solutions to customer skill gaps, correcting architectural errors, and observing the deployed system to harvest lessons for future projects.Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPhysical environmental factors of this position include those found in typical business office environment or home office environment.
