Overview
IU Health and IU School of Medicine collaboration plays a critical role in advancing healthcare education, research, and patient care, benefiting both healthcare providers and the communities they serve in Indiana.
Our Rehabilitation Services Department is seeking a collaborative leader who is passionate about elevating clinical practice through the development of a Physical Therapy Residency Program in partnership with the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health & Human Sciences at Indiana University. The Residency Programs include both clinical and didactic program development requiring split time between IU Health and Indiana University to ensure clinical and academic integration. This leader will be responsible for development and management of the residency programs, residency outcome assessment, residency accreditation, mentoring residency instructors, teaching in their area of expertise within an entry-level DPT program, professional and university service, and scholarship. This position will manage programs and staff within the Rehabilitation Services Department at IU Health. The Rehab Residency Manager contributes to administrative decision-making, leadership, strategic planning and financial stewardship. Duties include but are not limited to program development, analysis of and improvement of operations, as well as efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources. Reviews, updates and implements policies and procedures. Responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems. Acts as an expert resource to the department and other healthcare practitioners. Ensures department and staff conform to appropriate legal and regulatory requirements. Performs tasks and duties of the therapist as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in area of specialization, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology or audiology.
Requires current State of Indiana license in area of specialization, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology or audiology.
May require current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
May require a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASLHA) or eligibility for this certificate.
May require a certificate of clinical competence in Audiology or eligibility for this certificate.
5-7 years of relevant experience is preferred.
3-5 years of leadership experience is preferred.
Knowledge of software applications and database management skills is preferred.
Base knowledge of state and federal regulations is preferred.
Physical Therapist strongly preferred.
Residency experience strongly preferred.
Program Management experience strongly preferred.
