Play a key role as part of Dolby's new R+D Center in Bangalore as a Senior Research Leader in our Advanced Technology Group (ATG). ATG is the research and technology arm of Dolby Labs, innovating on technologies in audio, video, AR/VR, and multimodal applied to gaming, music, professional, broadcast, and user-generated content.Scope and Responsibilities:The audio and video technologies developed by Dolby are implemented in billions of devices and service offerings worldwide. It is crucial to understand how the technologies we built are being used and experienced daily. Therefore, Dolby is looking for a data scientist lead researcher/manager to play a crucial role in planning and executing our data science research and AI deployment efforts. You and your team will analyze large amounts of raw data generated continuously from various systems and build data analysis tools and automated analytics using artificial intelligence.Manage and mentor a small group of data scientists, AI optimization researchers, and distributed computing researchers.Perform research, develop, and apply data science, machine learning, and statistical methods to large sets of multimedia, contextual, and metadata data.Develop the next generation of data augmentation tools and mine data using modern tools and programming languages.Provide state-of-the-art data analysis to understand how Dolby technologies are being deployed and used.End-to-end planning and execution of data science initiatives: scoping, building, testing, implementation, maintenance, tracking, and optimization of predictive models.Develop methodologies and frameworks for deploying scalable and reusable deep neural networks.Influence technology strategy with data, focusing on impact, and collaborate with other teams.Work with ATG technology leaders to co-define projects needed for various global R&D efforts.Maintain proficiency within the AI and data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts.Present information to different stakeholders using data visualization techniques.Education & Experience:Ph.D. plus at least 5 years of industrial experience or a Master’s plus at least 9 years of experience with a degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.Experience in guiding and mentoring junior researchers.Team-oriented work ethic and experience working in a cross-continental, matrix organization.Strong background in statistical signal processing, decision theory, algorithms, Bayesian modeling, time series, hypothesis testing, classification, and regression analysis.Experience in designing experiments, defining hypotheses, and developing statistical models.Extensive experience using statistics, mathematics, algorithms, and programming languages to solve big data challenges.Fluent in structured and unstructured data management and modern data transformation methodologies.Demonstrated ability to define and create complex models to generate insights from real-world data.Experience deploying models into production environments.Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including scientific writing and formal briefings.Strong publication record in top-tier conferences in areas such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Artificial Intelligence.
