The AD will design, develop, refactor, enhance, test and evaluate, and support software applications currently hosted on-premises to be hosted within the AWS GovCloud instance compliant with government policy directives (PD) and guides (PG) mandated to ensure legal and information security compliance. This shall include analysis of the existing system in collaboration with other team members and Government PM, and designing an appropriate solution. Candidates shall be skilled in multiple web application languages, reverse engineering, and have a background in building scalable, user intuitive, high-quality and high performing web applications. The application enhancements or modifications may include business and process changes to applications/systems as well as coordination with other integrated and non-customer software systems. The successful candidate will work alongside infrastructure, development, and managerial team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.The AD will:Support the Government’s effort to obtain and maintain an authority-to-operate (ATO) and protect the security posture of the program systems and applications;Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills;Provide Government personnel instruction, guidance, and documentation;Be willing to learn new technical disciplines and to become a resident expert within a team;If requested, be able to attend CCB meetings with the Government to represent the Team.This position is on-site in Quantico, VA or Huntsville, AL. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a CI poly.Required Qualifications:Experience as a front end software developer in building multi-tier framework software applications using object-oriented programming languages, such as Java and Python, including developing SOAP and REST APIs in a client/server environment.Experience writing and evaluating regular expressions, developing, debugging and/or refactoring code for popular programming languages (i.e., Java, Python, etc.), and scripting command line tools (e.g., Vim, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to automate command tasks.Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM), web-related technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS), and experience with major databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server). Experience in developing cloud-native applications (AWS preferred) would be beneficial.This position will focus more on Web development initially then shift to application development as migration progresses.Preferred: One (1) or more years of experience with cloud application development, including migrating on-premises applications.Experience with the following:.Net Core 7/8ReactAzure - fundamentals at minimumMicroservices - Knowledge of SOAP, but moving to RESTful APIsFront End - HTML, JavaScript, CSS, TypescriptPostgresAgile MethodologiesLinux, Docker containersGitLab, understanding GitLab CI/CDEducation: Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
