It’s all about keeping people connected wherever they go.Zentro is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, patient problem solver to join our construction/installation team. As one of our Network Construction Technicians, you have a strong understanding of structured cabling, wireless technologies, and construction skills, like to work with your hands and enjoy spending time outside.You will report directly to the Network Construction Manager and is based in Chicago.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Install, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT6 riser and shielded cables on patch panels and RJ-45 modular plugs.Route cabling in many different building types through the existing riser closets. Create new pathways for cabling to route from MDF to IDF closets and to the rooftop of buildings by coring and using EMT conduit, sleeves, and PVC.Install various roof mount types and wireless radios on each building. Calibrate wireless radios with other team members to create a connection from one building to another.Install server racks and equipment in the MDF and IDF closets. Organize cabling using D-rings, O-rings, clamps, cable organizers, etc.Be a member of our on-call team one week per month with 24/7 availability for emergency purposes.Qualifications:Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Own and operate an SUV or Truck and be able to transport 500lbs of equipment.At least one year experience in a low voltage wiring position.Experience in specialized technical courses or equivalent work experience a plus.Experienced understanding of CAT5/6 terminations, including using an RJ-45 crimper, punch down tool, cable tester, keystone jacks, modular plugs, patch panels.Ability to lift heavy and large objects, climb ladders, and work on tall buildings.Demonstrates high ethical standards, strong work ethic with an emphasis on team commitment.
