Lead Development Representative (LDR) – Mechanical HVAC/R

OverviewAs a Lead Development Representative (LDR) at Grimes Mechanical, you will play a critical role in driving new business by generating leads, identifying sales opportunities, and establishing strong relationships with potential customers in the HVAC/R industry. You will be responsible for prospecting, lead qualification, and developing a pipeline of new business opportunities for our sales team to pursue. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, goal-driven, and passionate about the HVAC/R industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Prospecting:Identify and target potential customers (commercial, industrial, and residential) in need of HVAC/R services. Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, networking, and industry events. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through diligent prospecting efforts.

Qualification of Leads:Qualify inbound leads and prospects through initial discovery calls to understand their needs, budget, and decision-making processes. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop lead qualification criteria and best practices.

Customer Relationship Building:Establish and maintain strong relationships with new prospects to foster trust and long-term partnerships. Educate potential customers on the company’s HVAC/R solutions, services, and the value we bring to their business.

Sales Support & Collaboration:Work closely with the sales team to transition qualified leads and opportunities for follow-up and closing. Collaborate with project managers and estimators to ensure smooth handoffs and accurate project scoping.

CRM & Pipeline Management:Maintain detailed records of all prospect interactions, outreach, and activities in the company’s CRM system (e.g., Salesforce). Track and report on KPIs, including lead conversion rates, call-to-meeting ratios, and opportunities generated.

Industry & Product Knowledge:Develop a deep understanding of the HVAC/R industry, trends, products, and services to effectively communicate with prospects. Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and competitive landscape to effectively position the company’s offerings.

Lead Nurturing & Follow-Up:Follow up on leads through various channels to ensure timely responses and follow-through. Nurture relationships with leads that are not immediately ready to buy, keeping them engaged for future opportunities.

Key Qualifications:

Experience:Previous experience in sales development, lead generation, or business development, ideally in the HVAC/R, construction, or mechanical services industry. Experience with cold calling, prospecting, and relationship building is preferred.

Skills:Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers. Comfortable with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and other sales-related software. Self-motivated and target-driven with the ability to meet and exceed sales goals. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to understand technical HVAC/R concepts and services, or willingness to learn quickly.

Traits:Highly motivated, proactive, and resilient. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
