Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is seeking the position of Principal Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Irving, TX. The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and developing J2EE compliant applications that can be deployed on premise and/or cloud environments. This position will utilize software development experience implementing Agile methodologies. Specific duties include:
Undertake design and code reviews of other members of the development teams.
Estimate the size of backlog items that the team is responsible for delivering.
Translate backlog items into engineering design and logical units of work (tasks).
Develop Restful APIs using complex SQL queries, Spring and other J2EE technologies, deploy them on tomcat and IBM WebSphere application servers and expose them as SOAP web services.
Implement and oversee execution of sprint backlogs.
Write unit/functional/integration tests as per the “definition of done” for the SCRUM teams.
UI development using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Ajax and other open-source JavaScript libraries/frameworks.
Support UAT teams in resolving issues as per business priority.
Provide advice, support and mentorship to other team members.
Undertake regular “brown bag” presentations.
Ensure the deliverables adhere to a common technical goal (big picture).
Utilize Java/J2EE/multi-tier application design and development experience.
Work with data structures, and algorithms to design, problem solve, and implement complexity analysis.
Follow Agile SCRUM, XP methodologies.
Work on a DevOps environment using CI/CD tools including JUnit, Selenium, Git, Jenkins, and Ansible.
Build web service (REST and SOAP) components both client and server side.
Use Eclipse IDE to develop java classes, unit test cases and other files and Visual Studio Code IDE to develop the Angular JS code, HTML templates and CSS files for the styling of the UI changes.
Work with modern Java technologies and frameworks including Spring AOP, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Security, Activiti and Hibernate.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) software development experience implementing Agile methodologies.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following:
Working on a DevOps environment using CI/CD tools including JUnit, Selenium, Git, Jenkins, and Ansible.
UI development using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Ajax and other open-source JavaScript libraries/frameworks.
Developing Restful APIs using complex SQL queries, Spring and other J2EE technologies, deploying them on tomcat and IBM WebSphere application servers and exposing them as SOAP web services.
