We are seeking an experienced GCP Data Engineer Architect with 12-14 years of experience to lead our data architecture initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Should have a deep understanding of cloud data solutions, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale data architectures. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.Skills
Extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions on GCP, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.Proven experience in leading data engineering teams and driving architectural decisions.Deep expertise in cloud-based data solutions, including data warehousing, data lakes, real-time data processing, and ETL/ELT pipelines.Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with data modeling, database design, and query optimization.Strong knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance practices in cloud environments.Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager).GCP Certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer).Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.Knowledge of machine learning and AI-driven data solutions.Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of comprehensive data architectures on GCP, including data lakes, warehouses, and real-time data processing systems.Develop and implement data governance frameworks, data models, and data management strategies to support organizational data needs.Design end-to-end data pipelines and integration solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams, ensuring best practices in cloud data engineering and architecture.Collaborate with senior leadership to define data architecture strategies and roadmaps that support the organization’s long-term goals.Optimize data architectures and pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and efficiency of data workflows.Design and implement robust security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and identity management, to protect sensitive data.Ensure all data solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable architecture solutions.Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate data solutions into CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.Experience
