Audio Visual TechnicianThe USC Office of Cultural Relations and University Events (CRUE) is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician with a strong background in video production to join its team. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Audio-Visual Services, the Audio Visual Technician will operate and maintain event technology as it relates to live and broadcast events, especially those pertaining to video.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of event audio-visual systems and equipment, including sound, lighting, and video, and will be able to effectively communicate with all university stakeholders, and work independently across multiple projects and deadlines.Responsibilities:Work with the Senior Director of Audio-Visual Services and the Technical supervisor along with the CRUE Event Producers in executing a variety of university events including but not limited to presidential, developmental, and student-level events.Configure, maintain, and operate in live Audio-Visual installations, rehearsals, events, and strikes for on and off-campus events.Configure, maintain, and operate virtual event signal flows that support web streams, webinars, meetings, and other online programming.Configure, maintain, and operate video production equipment for Live and Broadcast transmission, including:PTZ camera configuration and operation.Digital routing switchers and control systems.Timecode and various sync types.Peripheral broadcast equipment.Audio/Data dis/embedders.Frame Synchronizers.Converters/Scalers and distribution amplifiers.Assist with the Coordination of equipment rentals and schedules with AV vendors.Configure, maintain, and operate presidential teleprompting systems including static and rise and fall units.Conduct annual inventory and maintenance, including firmware updates of CRUE AV equipment.Assist in training CRUE students to support their role in setting up, operating, and maintaining all CRUE A/V equipment.Assist in monitoring workflow for efficiency and timeliness and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and commitments. Structure staff and organize work in a logical fashion to ensure efficient operations.Assist the Director of Audio-Visual Services with developing AV best practice learning materials and hands-on instruction for CRUE, Visions and Voices, and other campus partners.Research new technology and provide recommendations on equipment upgrades.In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words, and actions, a strong commitment to

USCs Unifying Core Values : integrity, excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, well-being, open communication, and accountability.Qualifications:Proficient in professional live production systems (e.g. audio, video, projection, lighting, power distribution, rigging, and staging) along with Information and Communication Technology (e.g RF, wireless, local, and wide area networks, cellular technologies that use SDI, NDI, SRT, RTMP, RTP, and SRC protocols) used in telecommunication platforms.Experience in video switching live, broadcast, streaming, recording, and postproduction workflows.Experience with Shading and color correction of video signals and displays.Experience with integrated AV systems using Biamp, Dante, Crestron, Extron, AMX, and similar platforms.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required.Strong organizational skills including the ability to organize resources.Ability to manage workload well and prioritize effectively when faced with multiple projects.Ability to respond/follow through quickly to problems and questions.Strong attention to detail.Ability to coordinate and maintain a complex calendar.Ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.Ability to organize and coordinate special projects.Must have a sense of protocol with top-level executives.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Film or Television production or related fields.Minimum 3 years experience in technical direction and postproduction editing.Required Documents and Additional Information:Resume and cover letter required (may be uploaded as one file).
