Position Summary

Develop administrative and technical policies and procedures to ensure security and integrity of data. Write, maintain, and enforce IT security policies. Manage data storage, redundancy, and security for University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). Assess and analyze hardware and software to ensure seamless and uninterrupted operation. Ensure systems, applications, and data are secure from unauthorized access. Coordinate, test, and document disaster recovery process annually with NYU IT. Assist in managing the UDAR ITS service-level agreements. Develop multi-year plans including estimated budgets to expand and/or replace existing hardware and software. Research, test, and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for improvements/upgrades. Liaison between central NYU IT and UDAR ITS. Manage support for the application to access the University’s alumni and donor database. Administer the Virtual Machines, cloud storage, Active Directory, Listservs, email aliases, ticketing system, and DNS. Create computer image templates and oversee the maintenance and deployment of virtual machines. Oversee the relationship with server administrators for maintenance, installations, and configurations.Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree with Information or Technology security credentials.Preferred Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or certification as Systems Administrator and information or technology security certification. Credentials can include but are not limited to MCSA, MCITP, SSCP, Security+, CCNA, CEHv9, CISA, CISSP, GPEN, or CRISC.Required Experience:

5 years' experience installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware/software in a complex network environment with at least 3 years’ systems management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience troubleshooting and staff supervision. At least 2 years Windows Server experience.Preferred Experience:

Experience in an academic client services environment. Experience with virtual machines and cloud storage.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Apps, VMWare, Citrix XenDesktop, and Box. Must include familiarity with a ticketing system (preferably ServiceNow/ServiceLink). Excellent verbal, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Experience with Ethernet, firewalls, security software, computer imaging, virtual machines, cloud storage, file shares, Windows servers, and project management. Experience with VMWare vSphere, Citrix Studio, and Ellucian Advance a plus.Additional Information
