Security Specialist
at our customer site at
The Pentagon
in Arlington, VA . As the Security Specialist, you will support one of itscritical customers in the areas of PERSEC, PHYSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, INDSEC, and general security administration.In this role, you will process CAC and building access applications; access control requests; country and threat briefs; in/out processing of DoD Agency personnel; indoctrinations/debriefings, security record management; courier card application processing; and visit authorization requests. In addition, you will also provide all access control for DoD Agency spaces at multiple Government locations. You will provide all Agency SIPR token administration, CAC resets, transmit, and retrieve all SCI cable traffic. You will also provide support for all OCONUS travel briefs for both official and unofficial travel of the Directorate personnel. You will support the DoD Agency Security team and will directly interface and collaborate with key leaders and customers. Areas of emphasis are physical security, information security, OPSEC, and verification of clearances/accesses.This position is

however you must be within commuting distance of the

to go in office three days per week.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance to start.What will you do in this role?Provide administrative support for the DoD Agency Physical Security Program.
Support the DoD Agency Security team and provide NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS access control support.
Responsible for assisting in the enforcement of SCIF access control requirements.
Coordinate escorts as necessary andconduct regular security audits & inspections.
Review requests for equipment entry into existing SCIFs.
Prepare visit requests for program personnel.
Maintain facility and program Security Operation Plans (SOPs) and other documentation.
Ensure appropriate documentation and accreditation of facilities are performed.
Direct personnel in the review and approval of accreditation documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), and other essential physical security documents.
Provide recruitment advice to Human Resources and hiring managers regarding security-related issues such as clearance eligibility, immigration status, and right to work legislation.
Process pre-employment screening checks against the Cabinet Office Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
Maintain accurate security records within the Security databases.
Perform vetting aftercare responsibilities such as supporting the completion of Change of Personal Circumstance, Annual Security Appraisal Forms, and Aftercare Incident Reports.
Produce CAC card and other related badges.
Support the Security Induction process and other security education and awareness initiatives.
Provide travel security advice and guidance to those personnel undertaking business travel or those personnel undertaking personal travel who hold a clearance or have a requirement to travel with business.
Basic Qualifications :Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience and understanding of DoD security practices and procedures.
Hands-on experience in physical security assessments/inspections and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)/Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) security requirements.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience with SIPR and JWICS security domain protocols.
Solid experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Detail-oriented and excellent time-management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
US Citizenship with an active Top Secret/SCI government security clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with federal organizations and interacting with senior civilian and military personnel.
Ability to develop and present information/decision briefings to senior Government leaders.
Experience as a Facility Security Officer.
Experience as a COMSEC Custodian/Manager.
Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans.
Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
Experience in accreditation of SCIFs/TSCIFs.
Experience as a security professional supporting the DoD.
Solid organization skills and attention to detail.
