OverviewThe Application Engineer configures, implements, and documents applications that provide the technical solutions to meet specifications and business requirements defined by company objectives to promote effective, efficient, and compliant operations. In this role, you are the expert for one or multiple applications that serve our business. The Application Engineer focuses on software deployed domestically and worldwide. Your role is to collaborate with Cook partners to fulfill business needs, working directly with the application, leveraging your technical implementation skills to enhance, configure, and troubleshoot issues. Your expertise in communication, integrations, and teamwork is vital for the success of this role, serving the business well. Priority management, adaptability, and time management skills are vital in offering value to your team and the business by executing solutions promptly with quality delivery. Candidates must be continuous learners, highly self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.A person that would be successful in this role would be driven by the desire to learn new things, be unafraid to seek clarity and definition when it is missing, thrive in a team-oriented environment, communicate well with both technical and non-technical partners, and find it engaging to know our applications inside and out, providing value to our business and ultimately our patients.A person that would be successful in this role would be:Experienced In:The maintenance and management of cloud-based platforms.Process and standard development for activities such as access control, patching, and license management.KPI development and implementation for those processes.Preferred platforms include Microsoft Azure data platform (e.g., Synapse, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Fabric) and reporting and analytics platforms (SAP Business Objects, Power BI).ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions/Duties:Configure (COTS) commercial off-the-shelf product and administrate the business rules, workflow rules, and process builder.Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the business/workflow rules that support core integration functions.Analyze proposed COTS design changes.Analyze business requirements and provide appropriate solutions in COTS System.Follow COTS product trends and technology innovations.Coordinate and assist in testing code and configuration changes.Map, transform, migrate, and integrate data across systems.Maintain subject matter expert of COTS System.Coordinate and assist in COTS CI/CD process.Maintain communication with Product Manager and Project Manager on scope of projects.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or other related degree; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background.Experience with enterprise application configuration and implementation.Experience with integrations between applications and databases.Experience with software development or scripting languages preferred. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.Working knowledge of enterprise-level asset management concepts and operations preferred.Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Hexagon (HxGN) EAM, Aveva PI, Niagara 4, or ViewLinc preferred.Experience in Object-oriented programming languages like Java/C++/C#/Python.Desired - Experience in/ability to learn on the job - Salesforce developer toolkit including Apex Classes, SOQL, Controllers and Triggers, Visualforce, Force.com.Experience in web coding including HTML, CSS, and JS.Physical Requirements:• Location: This role is a hybrid position. Candidate must reside within 2 hours via car of the Cook Medical location and is required to work onsite as needed per Manager expectations.• Works under general office environment conditions. Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA.• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences.
