Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the Substation Structural Project Engineer are to conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural and civil engineering projects related to substation design.Self-starter with demonstrated ability to perform structural and civil engineering calculations with minimal supervision.Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard engineering codes, techniques, and procedures.Participate and lead civil structures condition assessments and demonstrated report writing ability.Analyze available project information, formulate work processes and execute work within schedules and budgets.Work independently on projects or with teams on larger projects.Interface with internal and external clients.A mix of project management as related to technical work assignments, field work and some overnight travel will be required.Preferred QualificationsA minimum of 3 years experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.Computer knowledge of structural analysis programs (STRUDL, RISA, REVIT Structural, RAM Structural System; Enercalc, LPILE, MFAD) and Microsoft Office is a plus.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit).An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.What We BelieveHDR is our company.
