During this program, you will have the opportunity to work within the Facilities & Engineering Department at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) Operations Facility from January 6 – February 28, 2025. Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to the co-op as they engage in the following:Gain experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain all major equipment on site.Take part in improvement projects related to the utilities systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost-appropriate utility operations at ARI.Apply basic engineering principles and practices in support of daily operation and maintenance activities for site utility systems.Learn how to work in a GMP environment and abide by GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.Work closely with multiple disciplines, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Process Development, and Validation regarding utility operations & maintenance activities and strategies.Collaborate with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network.Win

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:18 years or older.Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent.Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing.Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university.Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op.Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Engineering (Facilities, Marine, or Energy Systems).Sophomore or Junior Standing.Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and adaptability.Proven leadership experience on campus (e.g., projects, clubs, organizations, sports).Thrive
