The Middle District of Florida seeks a mission-driven professional to serve as a full-time Court Services Manager. The ideal candidate possesses substantial federal court experience, excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, and a strong work ethic. This meaningful career opportunity is located in either the Orlando or Tampa division.Responsibilities
Work hand in hand with the division managers to manage, develop, train, and mentor their staff; engage, and support the division managers through supervision; cover divisional offices in absence of division manager, if necessary.Assist the division managers with service to the judges, staff, and the public, including responding to a wide variety of questions and requests.Drive organizational excellence by providing leadership for operations staff through coaching, mentoring, training, providing resources, giving guidance and feedback, and facilitating constructive communication. Ensure thorough and timely performance evaluations are conducted.Serve as a liaison between judicial support staff and the other clerk's office departments using excellent interpersonal communications skills.Assist the Clerk and the Chief Deputy with creating a culture of continuous improvement and supportive leadership. Identify judicial and customer needs and areas of process and applications development and improvement. Assess Operations' organizational structure and assignments to meet current and future organizational needs and budgetary restrictions.Work closely with court management in the hiring of clerk's office judicial support positions. Participate in interviews as needed.Oversee the training of newly hired Courtroom Deputies and jury staff and recommend additional training as necessary. Assist in the basic training of clerk's office supervisors. Meet with Courtroom Deputies, Case Administrators, Supervisors, Division Managers, and the Operations team regularly to discuss Clerk's Office procedures. Coordinate the updating of procedures and the training on upcoming changes.Manage the development of jury procedures and administration. Monitor compliance with standards and internal control procedures. Research and solve juror problems.Serve as the clerk's office liaison to the Jury Committee. Assist with the review and updating of the Jury Plan.Ensure jury payments comply with the Guide to Judiciary Policy.Assist with the certifying of clerk's office payments in Judiciary Integrated Financial Management System.Oversee the creation of the master jury wheel and the training of staff.Assist human resources and division managers with the onboarding of new judges.Communicate and respond to questions and requests from judges, the staff, and the public.Qualification
Candidates must possess at least six years of previous work experience including professional, administrative, technical, supervisory, or management experience that provided an opportunity to gain skill in developing interpersonal work relationships required to lead employees, the ability to exercise mature judgment, and knowledge of concepts of management, and the ability to understand the managerial policies applicable to the U.S. District Court. Must possess demonstrated outstanding leadership, organizational, project management, and human relations skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.A bachelor's degree is required. A master's degree is desired. Federal District Court experience is highly desired.Preferred Skills
