The Digital Modernization Sector of Leidos has an opportunity for a Cross Domain Systems Engineer located in our Fort Meade, MD offices. This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for supporting filter development, systems engineering needs, product integration, test, vulnerability analysis, and deployment activities for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on the Cross Domain Enterprise Solutions (CDES) team. The qualified candidate will provide technical analysis for a wide variety of engineering and integration activities, execute moderate complexity studies to evaluate products for compliance with requirements and applicable standards, define preliminary processes to solve complex engineering issues, and work heavily in a team environment.Primary Responsibilities
Develop customer cross domain technologies in accordance with customer requirements, governing compliance with project schedule, scope, and mission need.Work to security compliance of development, integration, and test infrastructure using DoD security analysis techniques including the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management process and applying appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guides for relevant components.Support and deliver results in both a waterfall and agile project management framework.Work with internal managers and customers to shape requirements, developing to the highest level of standards and quality.Conduct performance analysis and technology maturity assessments of emerging technologies through application review and load testing.Understand and provide insight on system and application performance through the analysis of recorded system utilization and network traffic during test events.Perform systems integration, test, and deployment of cross domain solutions and related technologies on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VMware ESX Platforms.Troubleshoot the operation of these components and resolve existing or potential issues to ensure optimum operation of the environment.Automate lab and production tasks and processes via the use of custom scripts, and develop software policies to properly route customer traffic through gateways to the cross domain solutions.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8-12 years related experience in network integration and/or engineering or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.Proficient understanding of code revision tools.Familiar with Agile, CI/CD, Git, Gitlab, Microsoft coding tools.Familiarity with distributed systems and network architecture.Understanding of requirements management.Understanding of software testing, and creation of test plans and procedures.Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems.Current DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher certification required; Security+CE, CISSP, CEH, or higher are the preferred certifications.You must hold an active Top Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain SCI.Required Experience
Experience with hands-on network integration and installation experience.Experience with RedHat / Linux / VMware / Windows (install, configure, maintain, and administer).Works effectively both as a team member and independently.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, and in person with customers and management.Experience with creating technical documentation.Proven technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.Ability/desire to work in a highly dynamic and challenging environment.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree, desired.Languages such as Python, Java, Shell scripting, etc.Knowledge of the standard libraries, STL containers, and algorithms.Advanced Linux experience including 8+ years maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing performance analysis and tuning.Experience with Network Devices such as Load Balancers, Routers, and switches.Experience with MySQL Database and Microsoft Active Directory a plus.Experience with developing policy in Broadcom Layer7 or other API-based application gateways.Experience with cross-domain design, products, and implementation.Original Posting Date 2024-10-07 While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range
