You will be the lifeline that helps older adults, Veterans, and people with disabilities stay connected to their community and thrive. You’ll build relationships with customers, become the friendly face they look forward to seeing, and keep people moving.What you can expect from Ride Connection:A collaborative environment that supports your learning, growth, and passionOpportunities to connect and foster relationships with people in your communityTraining that prepares you for your volunteer work and may lower the cost of private insuranceMileage reimbursement when driving your own vehicleRecognition for your volunteer contributionTraining to drive our 14 passenger minibusWhat we expect from our volunteers:A dedication to supporting the needs of older adults, veterans, and people with disabilitiesA passion for Ride Connection’s mission, vision, values, and core accountabilitiesA desire to provide outstanding customer service at all timesExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsMajor Duties and Responsibilities:Provide safe and efficient transportation for customers to and from scheduled destinationsProvide assistance to customers as appropriateEnsure passengers and belongings are properly secured within the vehicleKeep accurate records of miles driven, volunteer hours incurred, pre and post trip inspections, and other vital informationDrive with a focus on safety while complying with relevant road laws, regulations, and general safety standards, including reporting injuries and vehicle damage or malfunctionsSKILLSElder careTransportationPeople SkillsRelationship BuildingGOOD FORPeople 55+REQUIREMENTSDriver's License NeededBackground CheckMust be at least 22Orientation or TrainingIdeal volunteer with drive shuttle 1-3 times/weekAt least five years of driving experience requiredThe simple act of getting someone where they need to go can be an incredibly rewarding experience. We rely on caring and compassionate volunteer drivers to provide valuable rides to the people in our community who need it most.
