Advanced Application Engineer - Process Instrumentation (Richmond, VA)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Application Engineer for our Process Instrumentation product line. Based in Richmond, VA, this full-time role is pivotal in ensuring that our products not only meet but also exceed the functional requirements of our diverse clientele in scientific and industrial settings. You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, providing installation and training services, and offering technical support. A successful candidate will play a key role in interpreting data and troubleshooting technical issues, facilitating our commitment to customer satisfaction and driving the adoption of our advanced instrumentation solutions.
Compensation:
DOE - base salary range from $80,275/year to $90,900/year plus benefits, profit-sharing, and bonus opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct, evaluate, and present feasibility studies (sample measurements) to determine how well our products meet client needs.
Handle installations and provide comprehensive training to users to ensure effective adoption of technology.
Provide responsive and insightful technical support, resolving issues to enhance customer satisfaction.
Efficiently interpret data from a wide range of processing environments to aid in troubleshooting and technical improvements.
Participate actively in conferences and trade shows to promote company products and learn about industry advancements.
Prepared to travel overnight frequently, ranging from 40% to 60% of the time, to meet client and project requirements.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience with analytical instruments or similar technologies.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients, peers, and upper management.
Strong independence in work habits and a high degree of reliability and dedication to customer satisfaction.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport for travel purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience in customer-facing roles within the analytical instrumentation or process industry.
Proven track record of effective project management and leadership in technical settings.
Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in an Engineering discipline.
Previous experience participating in industry trade shows and technical presentations.
Expertise in data analysis tools and software relevant to process instrumentation.
Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Superb organizational and time management capabilities.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to grasp complex product features and troubleshooting methods.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and other relevant technical software.
