Mid – Senior Level Software Systems Engineer

Overview:

Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) provides our national defense and federal civilian and industry customers with services and products in the following main areas: 1) Cybersecurity and Information Operations; 2) Space Operations and Control; 3) Aviation Systems; 4) Ground, Air and Missile Defense, and Fires Support Systems; 5) Intelligence Programs Support; 6) Experimentation and Test; 7) Program Management; and (8) Audio/Visual Technology Applications. Quantum's Corporate Office is located in Huntsville, AL, but Quantum actively hires for positions nationwide and internationally.

Mission:

This is a System Engineer position supporting the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Air & Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office, a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with focus on Mission Command systems.

Responsibilities:

Work with contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), government civilians, and system operators.

Develop system-level features that describe MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to provide guidance for software implementation.

Lead reviews and adjudicate comments made against the features.

Use an MBSE approach to document the features using an Agile workflow.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.

4 - 10 years of system engineering experience.

Experience in one or more of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.

Progressively complex experience in the design, integration, and analysis of military electronics, computer networking, super-minicomputers, microcomputers, and digital and graphic display systems.

Ability to acquire or possess (and maintain) a US Top Secret security clearance, with possibilities of working at higher classification levels.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

7 years of progressively complex experience.

Record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.

System engineering experience in support of DoD programs, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program.

Hands-on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF.

Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence and SAFe Agile experience are a plus.
