A Project Engineer assists the Project Manager, Estimators, and Detailing Manager with the following duties and responsibilities as instructed. A Project Engineer should be hardworking, detail oriented, and vigilant in the execution of their assigned duties and shall assist all members of the team in delivering the project on time and on budget. An Engineering or Construction Management Degree is preferable with exceptions taken on a case by case basis.

The Project Manager manages the daily activities required to ensure the successful and safe completion of the project or projects (i.e. successful execution of a contract) with responsibilities also including scheduling, financial accountability, change management and overall project responsibility as defined by Ben Hur project operating procedures, aka, the Ben Hur Project MasterFile.

The Estimators create takeoffs, assign activities, and productivities to all takeoff items on both bidding projects and changes to existing projects.

The Detailing Manager is responsible for the management of the fabrication drawing detailer in regards to their production of the Advanced Bill of Materials, submittals, Requests for Information, Issuance for Fabrication drawings, and coordination of applicable miscellaneous metals detailing with structural drawings, plus coordination with internal purchasing and CNC programming files.

A Project Engineer shall, as directed, support any or all of the aforementioned positions.

Coordinates shipping requirements between the field and suppliers and subcontractors.

Job cost and production reporting.

Create, manage and update schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

include the following:

Knowledge of scheduling with ability to create, manage, and update schedules is advantageous.

Must have good mathematical and statistical skills needed for evaluation of data, computation and calculations.

Ability to apply common sense in job execution and in problem solving.

Detail oriented and focused.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Good oral and written communications.

Professional attitude and presentation.

General knowledge of Construction Project Management contracts and hierarchy.

Able to interpret information from contract drawings, specifications and shop detail drawings.

Able to work with people in situations involving challenges, lead times, budgets and deadlines.

Intermediate computer skills including MS Office programs, PDF/drawing viewers, and ability to work in project management and scheduling programs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Engineering or Construction Management Bachelor's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience or internship in construction related trade is preferred but not mandatory.

Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.

REASONING ABILITY:

Above average reasoning skill needed for pre and post evaluation of challenges, processes and specifications.

Organizational and analytical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Casual Office environment, ability to safely walk fabrication shop and construction jobsites.
