Overview
We are seeking a full-time
Program Manager 1 IT
in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing programs of multiple related projects that are directed toward the same strategic, business, or organizational objectives while motivating and driving accountability to project teams which include both IT and business resources and providing program and project management guidance across teams.
Essential FunctionsManages programs/projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, including planning, management, and execution of multiple related projects that are directed toward the same strategic, business, or organizational objectivesIdentifies/manages issues at the intersection of multiple projectsDemonstrates capability to be a diplomat, interacting and negotiating with high-level business managersEnsures resources/projects are established to deliver the desired end state for GarminDelivers program status and summary program information to all business levels including executiveIdentifies interdependencies in projects across the department and provides guidance for project management processes/proceduresDerives/executes cross-departmental project and program management standardization and improvement effortsParticipates in project definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffsDevelops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity/creativityServes as a mentor to less experienced IT Project Managers (Project Manager 1, 2 & 3)Takes responsibility to ensure quality project documentation is produced across the programMotivates/drives accountability of project teams, other project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of programs/projects, including coordination of resources assigned to projects for which this person is responsible without direct authorityServes as a leader of changeAttends/actively participates in department and facility meetings/classesEncourages teams to utilize creative and innovative approaches to accomplish tasksDemonstrates commitment to quality through knowledge of its precepts, skillful workplace applications, and continuous organizational improvementDemonstrates responsibility for personal development, professional growth, and continuing educationExemplifies Garmin's Mission Statement, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin's image and cultureBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field

a minimum of 9 years relevant work experience
