We recognize and value the unique skills and passions that each team member brings to the table and aim to integrate them into our day-to-day project work.The RoleThe Associate role works on projects of all sizes and shows their dedication and enthusiasm towards the firm's objectives, branding, goals, documentation standards, and effective workflows. By using the best practices and having a clear understanding of the procedures stated in our Project Delivery Manual, Associates serve as co-leaders within their project teams, helping to steer project deliverables towards success. Associates are experts in production, delivery, and presentation. They have experience working on a range of project types and can act as mentors, collaborators, and reviewers for Senior Designers and Project Designers. An Associate proactively demonstrates the ability to problem solve and continually improves deliverables and displays a wide range of knowledge for solving design challenges at all scales. Associates are introduced to project management through mentorship from the project management team. Associates begin to translate their understanding of the firm’s four pillars—Design Excellence, Technical Excellence, People + Culture, and Financial Sustainability—into project management and delivery methods. They will support client relationships and begin to build their network of familiar consultants and client liaisons to support the project delivery cycle on their projects and project pursuits.All team members are passionate and fluent in the overall brand and vision of the firm. They are proactive in contributing to a holistic business operating structure outside of project work and champion the firm’s business plan, systems, and our four pillars. All team members embrace and sponsor a culture of human-centric collaboration and support through self-awareness and wellness for themselves as well as promoting and supporting our teams in their own journey.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign ExcellenceAssists with developing verbal and graphic narrative for polished and effective presentation using consistent styles with our brand and through coordination of other team members.Consistently creates and leads development of design. Ensures that intent is maintained throughout all aspects of the project: plans, sections, drawings, specifications, renderings, presentations, and reports.Demonstrates general knowledge of the construction industry, materials, cost-estimating, bidding, and firm standards for detailing Construction Documents. Recommends solutions for inconsistencies with overall design intent.Provides guidance in the creation of innovative design solutions, pushing the boundaries of our visualization and design standards that build upon previous work while consistently upholding rigorous drawing standards.Technical ExcellenceTakes initiative and demonstrates vested interest in the success and quality of the project. Initiates and supports firm-wide improvement activities through support of short and long-term solutions.Adopts and develops new methods to increase team efficiency for increased profitability.People + CultureElicits team trust and creates an environment where team members can raise sensitive issues and concerns through actively listening, effective communication, and collaboration.Always conducts oneself in a professional manner and leads by example to provide a positive and inclusive working environment.Financial SustainabilityAssists in coordinating external teams, maintaining client relationships, and communicating project risks and issues effectively.Effectively utilizes resources to meet project goals and schedule.Supports management of the project financial metrics and assists with developing scope of services, project milestones, design project completion date, provisions for fee adjustments for project leadership review.Learns the management of invoicing, participates in project reviews, and helps to maintain management software and work plan.Ideal Skills and Experience5+ years of experience or a combination of education, work experiences, and the demonstration of the required duties and responsibilities.Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.Registered in field of expertise.Strong collaborator: values and understands this as an important part of work culture.Ability to effectively balance and prioritize demands through strong planning, organizational, and execution skills.Proficient in: Revit/BIM 360, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Lumion, Rhino and rendering/3D modeling software, and file sharing.Sound interesting?
