Meta Network Engineer, ENS Strategic Lead - Charleston, West Virginia
Meta is seeking a forward-thinking leader with advanced technical and operational expertise to join the Edge & Network Service (ENS) team. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of data center infrastructure services and lead initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and risk management in one of the most dynamic fast-paced networks in the world. The right candidate will enjoy digging into complex problems in order to align and implement technical and business solutions via hands-on network engineering leadership, automation, process improvement, and data analysis.Responsibilities:Technical Leadership:
Provide expert root cause and corrective action leadership to resolve design, deployment, and operational issues across data center architectures, hardware platforms, and vendor performance.Operational Excellence and Team Leadership:
Own the planning and execution of an organizational-level strategy to deliver operational excellence.Innovation:
Spearhead research and development of cutting-edge technologies and network topologies to optimize data center evolution and deployment.Change Management:
Identify strategic problems and implement effective solutions across cross-functional infrastructure teams.Collaboration and Partnership:
Foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure proactive issue resolution.New Product Introduction (NPI):
Lead team process for network infrastructure within the Data Center.Incident Response:
Drive investigation of complex technical and process issues on a global scale.Technical Guidance:
Improve design standards, technical references, training, and processes through site visits and collaboration.Travel:
International and Domestic travel may be required 25% to 40% of the time based on project demand.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.10+ years of work experience with designing, deploying, and/or operating large-scale data center network infrastructure.10+ years of work experience with structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure.5+ years of work experience with enterprise and service provider network hardware platforms.Knowledge of data center design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes.Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale data center projects.Intermediate level subject matter expertise in TCP/IP, IPv4/v6, BGP, and other protocols.Intermediate level subject matter expertise in terrestrial telecommunication networks.Experience collaborating across teams and with organizational leaders.Preferred Qualifications:Experience leading and managing technical teams.Experience partnering with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs).Expert level knowledge of network protocols or Optical and Transport.Experience in organizational and digital transformation initiatives.Expert level knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design.Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractors.Public Compensation:$191,000/year to $271,000/year + bonus + equity + benefitsMeta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
