Join us.Barbaricum is seeking a senior-level IT and networking professional to support the US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) J61 in the Command and Control Facility (C2F) at Offutt AFB, NE. This team will provide IT engineering expertise for enterprise systems in the C2F to ensure the Command's IT architecture and solutions will meet mission and enterprise capability requirements for Nuclear Command and Control, Cyber, Electromagnetic Spectrum Management, and Missile Defense. This Engineer will provide network engineering with training and experience on new techniques and software defined networking. As such, qualified candidates should be familiar with routing, switch leaf/node models for deployment, metrics and monitoring solutions, and automated techniques for network management, configuration and patching.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise, direction, and oversight for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4), and Information Technology (IT) engineering programs that span USSTRATCOM's current and future mission sets.Recommend new technologies and develop strategies to meet USSTRATCOM's evolving capability requirements.Develop operational C4IT architectures and ensure solutions meet Presidential, DoD, and USSTRATCOM's mission requirements.Plan and execute duties as the designated Network Service Owner for 1) Network Architecture & Engineering and 2) Network-based Cloud Integration.Undertake market research on emerging network technologies, draft business case analyses (BCAs) to inform leadership on cutting-edge network solutions, and harness insights from national labs, industry benchmarks, and academic best practices when designing network-centric C4, IT, and NC3 solutions, blueprints, and roadmaps. Offer consistent support to other network-focused service owners and managers.Drive innovation within the networking sphere by refining workflows and pioneering, implementing, and endorsing potential and validated solutions in key network technology areas. This includes network security, cloud networking, and network-centric DevSecOps to fulfill future Presidential, DoD, and USSTRATCOM directives.Provide comprehensive technical solutions on network engineering and its linked technical processes, placing emphasis on network-focused cybersecurity, firewalls, access control, change control and configuration management.Qualifications

Active DoD TS/SCI clearanceA minimum of 12 years' experience as an IT Subject Matter Expert with at least four years of documented experience with systems engineering and/or relevant technical systems engineering processes for USSTRATCOM. In lieu of experience, a Master’s degree in any engineering discipline or computer science can be substituted for six years of IT experience. A Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science can be substituted for four years of IT experience.Demonstrated project management expertise with at least two years spent directing, managing, and evaluating the progress of intricate network or mixed IT initiatives.Training or hands-on experience related to designing, deploying, and upkeeping network systems and infrastructures that comply with DoD cybersecurity guidelines, regulations, DoD Network Modernization Policies, and DoD network-centric DevSecOps blueprints.Training and experience on new techniques and software-defined networking.Familiarity with routing, switch leaf/node models for deployment, metrics and monitoring solutions, and automated techniques for network management, configuration, and patching.Uphold IAT Level II Certifications in line with DODI 8570.01-M. Preference given to candidates with network-specific certifications, such as Cisco's CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent. Possession of CompTIA Security+ certification is highly recommended.Have a minimum of five years' track record of potent written and spoken communication capabilities, particularly in the context of network technologies and solutions. This includes the formulation and presentation of sophisticated written documents and spoken presentations on network topics to senior figures at O-6 and SES/GS-15 echelons or above.A minimum of five years' experience of people skills and temperament to work in a calm professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other entities.ITIL 4 experience or certification preferred.Familiarity with MOSA preferred.Open to ongoing skills enhancement through formal and ad-hoc upskilling.
