Application Engineering ManagerSummaryAmerican Fan has an opportunity for an Application Engineer based out our Fairfield, OH location. This position supports the external and intercompany customer needs in the market by supporting independent sales representatives, regional sales managers, key accounts, and end customers. Key tasks include reviewing customer requests, aligning American Fan resources, products, and services to meet specifications and generate proposals. This position serves as an integral link between the sales group, design engineering, manufacturing, and the customer to ensure proposals are market sensitive to pricing and performance.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze customer requirements for application of products and recommend a suitable product selection with due regard for internal engineering and manufacturing capabilities.Act as liaison between engineering and sales representatives regarding specific product applications, product design improvements, and possible product development ideas and concepts including field complaints.During proposal generation, serve as a liaison between customer needs and other departments concerning all aspects of customer orders such as inspections, deliveries, scheduling, spare parts list, etc. to ensure proposals account for all aspects of internal costs and resource needs.Provide technical assistance, information, support, and guidance to customers and sales representatives to maximize sales volume and earnings, market penetration of products, and effective relationships with customers. Develop specifications utilizing American Fan equipment.Provide input for proposal, data packages, and product and parts pricing proposals. May be asked to review orders written by sales representatives for correct pricing and product selections.Estimate cost of recommended equipment selections. Ensure that orders are consistent with quotes and review for accuracy and edit for correct spare parts and data listed.Prepare formal quotations that include data sheets, price calculations for customer products, etc. in accordance with specifications.Coordinate with relevant personnel to determine what in-plant equipment testing is required to meet customer specifications, if any, or as required.Maintain the required level of proficiency in application engineering skills, plus the use of Application Engineering tools.Partner with all central functions such as Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, and HR to ensure that enabling strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics.Engage with all businesses and functions to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture within the organization.Represent the Company with customers and business partners on and offsite.Engage in continuous improvement for processes included in and adjacent to job role.Recognize and resolve customer satisfaction issues (both internal and external).Prepare all required documents for review meetings in accordance with, and in support of, ERP (D365) and CRM (Infor).Identify and propose new market opportunities while increasing existing opportunities.
