office is seeking an

Entry-Level Civil Project Engineer

to join our growing office as an entry level engineer. This person will be a member of our roadway or rail design team and will assist in various tasks including plan preparation, quantity calculations, geometric design, pavement marking/signing, drainage design, traffic studies, traffic signal design, public involvement, report writing, specifications, cost estimates, roadway lighting, and other related tasks. The individual may also be called on to work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects. The engineer will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a unique and dynamic work environment.Primary Responsibilities:Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks.Receives instructions from Project Manager or Senior Project Engineers as to the general results expected.Research design options and document findings.Responsible as a member of the design team for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.Researches code requirements.Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits.Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals.May be asked to participate in non-design engineering activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection.QualificationsWhat you bring to our firm:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.Ability to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering registration within 1 year.Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:Minimum of 2024 graduate.EIT.Previous internship experience in rail, roadway, bridge, drainage, construction inspection.Microstation and/or Geopak working knowledge.No relocation or stipend assistance.Featured Benefits:Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.Access to company vehicle provided for inspection work.Comprehensive health benefits package including wellness, maternity/paternity leave, and employer paid AD&D, STD, and LTD.401(k) company match.Vacation accrual separate from sick time.Eleven (11) paid holidays for 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance.Six (6) day winter break in 2024 that is included in the paid holiday schedule.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
