About The Job
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be part of a global team working to maintain and enhance our Brightly Platform. Developer experience, automation, and “DevOps-as-a-Service" are the key indicators of success on top of resiliency, performance, and scalability.What You’ll Be Doing (responsibilities)Develop and implement scalable and secure containerized environmentsDesign and build integrated toolchains and workflows for CI/CD, security, and complianceIntegrate monitoring & track the performance of the OpenShift platform and applicationsProactively manage applications to address service failures before they escalateCollaborate and partner with various stakeholders inside of BrightlyAutomate application build and deployment processesCreate self-service capabilities and automated infrastructure for developersWork closely with architecture, development, operations, and security teamsProvide technical guidance and support for projects and infrastructureEnsure security measures are in place for applications and infrastructureMaintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirementsAssist in defining and maintaining SLAsWorking with AWS, Kafka, Service Mesh, Postgres, DataDog, and IstioDocument requirements and tasksWhat you need (requirements)Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience5 - 7 years or more of experience in platform engineering or a related fieldSeveral years of experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift is a plusProficiency in container orchestration platforms like OpenShift, KubernetesExperience with tools such as Tekton, Argo, GitHub, 3scaleKnowledge of programming languages like Python, Go, Bash, and/or JavaScriptFamiliarity with infrastructure management tools like Terraform and AnsibleStrong analytical problem-solving skills including troubleshootingStrong working knowledge of AWSExperience in developing and managing containerized environmentsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWilling to be on 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to production outagesAdvanced analytical organizational skills and attention to detailExperience with Istio, service mesh, Postgres, DataDog, and Kafka are a plus
