Job DescriptionThe CORE Power Team is seeking an enthusiastic Principle Applications Engineer who will be responsible for the development and qualification of high-performance DC-DC power converter products as well as working with FAEs and external customers to bring these products into production. Renesas’ advanced control architectures allow a challenging arena for Strong Engineers. The job entails working with cross-functional groups to continually push the envelope of technology implemented in Renesas products.Responsibilities:Contribute/own product-level definition of innovative and differentiated products.Product Validation and CharacterizationTechnical Documentation (e.g. datasheet, application note, and design guidelines)Setup and execute Simplis simulations of power converter circuits and systemsTraining of Field Applications Engineers as well as customer engineers.Customer Support, including offsite support at customer facilitiesSystem Level Testing and CharacterizationWork closely with local and remote teams (FAEs, design/test/product/reliability engineering and marketing) to perform the tasks listed above.In addition, this role should also be able to influence Design Architecture developmentUp to 15% travel is required as needed.Qualifications:Education: MSEE with an emphasis in Power Electronics with 8+ years applicable experience as Principle Applications Engineer, ORPhD with an emphasis in Power Electronics with 6+ years of applicable experience as Principle Applications Engineer.Additional Information:Renesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider driven by its purpose
