The VP of Software Engineering and tech lead will lead the development of cloud services and platform solutions needed to host business-critical applications that differentiate LPL in the market. This is a hands-on technical lead who will be leading a team of engineers to deliver best-in-class Wealth Planning solutions. Lead, develop and coach the engineering team to successfully deliver technology solutions to enable financial and investment planning capabilities and usage across the advisor and institution population. Lead the execution with high quality standards, pre-production environments, and development tools. In addition, this position partners with other agile team leaders to share learning, mitigate technical dependencies, plan for capacity needs, and establish practice consistency between agile teams. Activities will also include daily oversight of development quality, partnering with solution architecture to establish patterns that progress the teams towards scalable platforms. They play a key role in driving innovation and growth within the organization.Responsibilities:

Team Management:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for managing a team of software developers and ensuring that they are productive, motivated, and aligned with the goals of the technology organization.Project Management:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of software projects. They are responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Technical Expertise:

The Software Development Manager is expected to have a deep understanding of the technology stack used in LPL Financial Services and be able to provide technical guidance to their team members. They are expected to keep up to date with the latest technologies and best practices.Stakeholder Management:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This includes collaborating with other departments within the organization, as well as managing relationships with vendors, clients, and partners.Risk Management:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with software development projects. They need to ensure that appropriate controls are in place to manage risks related to cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Strategic Planning:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for contributing to the strategic planning process of the organization. They need to be able to identify opportunities for technology to drive business growth and identify potential risks associated with emerging technologies.Continuous Improvement:

The Software Development Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the software development process. They need to be able to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that drive greater efficiency, productivity, and quality.What are we looking for?

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience8+ years of experience in a Manager/Tech Lead capacity, guiding the team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support5+ years in a Solution Architect capacity, designing and implementing complex systems, including developing solutions from scratch10+ years of experience in Full-stack development designing interactive web applications, developing microservices, public cloud solutions, web services (REST APIs), Kafka messaging, and integrating with vendor APIs10+ years of experience within a combination of .NET, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL server, AWS (container and server-less), Git, Visual Studio and/or front-end technologies.Preferences:

Cloud technology solution experience: AWS certifications preferredFinancial-industry experience, particularly in wealth & asset management organizationAbility to interface with customers to gather business needs and to present solutionsCapable of effectively planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks utilizing resources and toolsExperience using Agile – champion Agile Manifesto within the teamPay Range:

$154,800-$232,200/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
