Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking a Database Administrator to support our Information Technology team.
The Database Administrator is responsible for supporting our Information Technology team by developing and maintaining our production, QA, and development SQL Server database environments. The DBA will help with database tuning, optimization, and general maintenance tasks such as backup and recovery procedures. The DBA will also assist in database design and modeling, ETL processes, creating and maintaining SSIS jobs and SSRS reports. This individual should have a background in computer science or related field.
CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)
Essential Functions
Manage SQL server databases through product life cycle environments, from development to QA and production.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes to ensure high performance and availability.
Develop and maintain cloud based databases in AWS RDS.
Apply data modeling techniques to assist in logical and physical database design.
Develop, manage, and test back-up and recovery plans.
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
Analyze query performance and perform query optimization.
Manage database file structure and expand/shrink as needed.
Monitor and optimize SQL server log files.
Develop and maintain SSIS packages including C# script tasks.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience working in IT as a SQL Server DBA.
Experience in database management and maintenance.
Proficiency with MS/SQL Server.
Experience with data warehouse concepts a plus.
Experience with Snowflake a plus.
