Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Analyst (240002XY)Job Summary:The IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the resilience of our IT systems and operations. This individual will collaborate with healthcare professionals and IT teams to develop, implement, and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans that safeguard patient care and support uninterrupted hospital operations. The IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Analyst is a crucial role in ensuring the organization's IT systems align with business objectives while providing a robust, resilient, and highly available computing environment. The individual is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.Essential Functions:Business Continuity Planning for Healthcare Services:
Develop and update business continuity plans (BCPs) specific to healthcare services, ensuring the continuity of patient care and critical hospital functions during disruptions.Conduct business impact analysis (BIAs) focused on healthcare operations to identify risks and prioritize recovery efforts.Collaborate with clinical departments to define recovery objectives, strategies, and resources for healthcare systems and applications.Direct the implementation of business continuity strategies and procedures. Identify potential disruptions and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing for Healthcare IT:
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans (DRPs) for IT systems, including electronic health records (EHR), medical imaging systems, financial applications, and communication platforms.Conduct regular testing and simulations of disaster recovery plans to validate effectiveness and enhance response capabilities.Document test results and collaborate with IT teams to implement improvements that reduce recovery time and ensure data integrity.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation in Healthcare IT:
Identify and assess potential risks to healthcare IT systems, data privacy, and patient safety.Analyze the impact of potential disruptions on the organization’s operations and data.Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls, such as data encryption, access controls, and cybersecurity measures.Stay informed about healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and cybersecurity trends to enhance risk management practices.
Incident Response and Recovery Support:
Serve as a key point of contact during IT incidents and emergencies, coordinating response efforts with clinical and IT teams.Lead IT system recovery activities, including data restoration, application recovery, and infrastructure resilience.Conduct post-incident reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to implement lessons learned and improve response protocols.
Compliance and Reporting for Healthcare Continuity:
Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans comply with healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements.Maintain documentation, reports, and metrics related to healthcare continuity and disaster recovery activities.Participate in audits, assessments, and regulatory inspections to demonstrate compliance and readiness.Prepare comprehensive reports on business continuity activities and results.
Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or other related field.Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS), Business Continuity Resiliency Professional (BCRP), Certified Continuity Manager (CBCM), or other related certification.Minimum of 2 years experience working with and creating business continuity plans and disaster recovery testing. The ideal candidate would have healthcare experience and familiarity working with operations on managing the criticality of systems and tiering accordingly. Knowledgeable in IT best practices for offline copies, replication, and high availability of systems.Primary Location:
