For more information about DAWSON, please visit dawsonohana.com.Job Summary:DAWSON's East Construction Division is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Traveling Construction Superintendent, SSHO, and QCM professional to join our team and support Federal Construction Contracts east of the Mississippi River. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest quality standards and comply with applicable regulations and codes. The applicant may be asked to perform one, two, or all three of the duties of Superintendent, SSHO, and QCM based on the contract requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, quality control, and process improvement. Travel is expected 85% to 95% of the time.Annual Salary: $90,000.00 to $105,000.00 (plus per diem) depending on applicant experience.During travel periods at project sites, the applicable GSA Per Diem Rates will apply to employee working remotely.During travel periods, the applicable IRS rate for auto mileage will apply to the employee working remotely when traveling to the work location. Daily commute between housing and project site will be the responsibility of the employee.Responsibilities:Ensure work onsite is completed in a safety, quality, and productive manner.Maintain and implement the 3 Phases of Quality Control per USACE QCM Requirements.Ensure strict adherence to the USACE EM385-1-1 Safety Standards.Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to identify and address potential deficiencies in construction practices, materials, and workmanship.Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and maintain quality control plans.Oversee the development and execution of corrective action plans to address identified non-conformities and ensure timely resolution.Monitor construction progress and provide guidance to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the entire project lifecycle.Coordinate and facilitate training programs to educate project teams on quality control procedures and best practices.Manage and maintain detailed documentation related to quality control processes, inspections, and test results.Conduct root cause analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance overall project quality and efficiency.Stay up-to-date with current industry trends, codes, and regulations related to construction quality management.Manage and conduct weekly QC Meetings with the client during the construction contract.Manage and conduct daily safety meetings with subcontractors as necessary.Review subcontractor Activity Hazard Analysis prior to starting a definable feature of work.This position will require currently being located or willing to relocate to the Greater Chicago, IL (Naval Station Great Lakes Area).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:A minimum of 10 years of construction industry experience.5 years of Federal construction experience.Proficient in the use of NAVFAC eCMS and USACE RMS for reporting.Working knowledge of Procore Project Management Software is a plus.Complete understanding of all Quality Control Manager requirements including: daily reports, preparatory & initial meetings, submittal register, testing log, and holding weekly quality control meetings (and all other requirements).Excellent verbal and written communications skills.OSHA 30-hour Certification is required.Current CPR and 1st Aid Training is required.USACE EM385-1-1 40 Hour Certification is required.Current USACE Quality Control Management Certification will be required.Knowledge of construction-related technologies, quality activities, and quality auditing. Ability to read and understand engineering design drawings, specifications, and applicable technical instructions, plans, and reports.Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and other applicable programs.Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, years of experience will be taken into consideration.Proven experience in construction quality management or quality assurance within the construction industry.Must have strong ability to read and interpret project design documents including project drawings and specifications.Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.Familiarity with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify potential quality issues proactively.Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Proficient in using construction quality management software and tools.Dawson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/VEVRAA federal contractor.
