JOB DESCRIPTION
Salary Grade: G05Minimum Midpoint Maximum$86,016 - $116,120 - $146,226
SUMMARY:Manages the standard SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) phases of assigned projects, using Company defined project methodologies and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategize, initiate, plan, execute, control and close multiple large scale and complex inter-departmental projects.
Acts as a sub-project manager and/or provides input into the project management process for larger cross-segment business projects.
Interacts and negotiates with vendors and stakeholders external to the Company to obtain best market price, construct deliverables and secure commitments.
Works with business units, external vendors, and stakeholders to complete project objectives of delivery, content, and quality.
Uses Company standards and procedures to track project schedule and cost, report project status, create project-related documentation, and capture lessons learned.
Proactively manages all stakeholders and their respective organizations' expectations, involvement, and consensus building.
Initiates, develops, plans, executes, manages, forecasts, re-forecasts, controls, and closes multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Recommends or proposes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation and works with team members to implement them.
Captures lessons learned at the close of each project, and documents the project for appropriate knowledge transfer.
Runs team initiation meetings to scope the project and develop the project charter, design the project process, sub-processes, and critical path.
Writes Scope/Statement of Work documentation to include resource identification, project cost, and schedule provisions, deliverables and measures of success.
Develops the project schedule baseline, Gantt chart, and budget.
Develops, monitors, and reports using Earned Value Management.
Manages change order process and communicates with stakeholders.
Identifies critical paths, contingency plans, and manages project risks.
Matrix manages cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets and experience to bring projects to a successful close.
Leads creation of appropriate teams and assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to each team member.
Manages project team and provides additional advice and/or guidance to resolve problems or conflicts.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
Requires considerable creativity, independent thought and action, and skills to fashion workable solutions that balance both corporate and customer interests.
Extensive knowledge in all aspects of network, hardware, and software technologies and standards.
Ability to detect, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Proven understanding of SDLC and project management using Project Management software, templates, tools, scheduling, and methodologies.
Ability to effectively combine quality assurance programs into Project Management plans.
QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with five to seven years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.Masters degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Project Management Certification from the Project Management Institute.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and contractual documents.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
COMPUTER SKILLS:Working knowledge of project, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present these conclusions to senior management if necessary. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time and talk and listen for extended periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Office environment.
