Engineer - Transportation/Traffic

4Creeks is seeking a Civil Engineer to work under the direction of a Senior Civil/Traffic Engineer or Department Manager on our Public Works team in our Visalia or Clovis office. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Leading and managing a variety of traffic engineering design tasks to deliver a wide variety of transportation projects that may include roundabouts, traffic signals, signing, striping, temporary traffic control, roadway lighting, roadway safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and pedestrian and bicycle facilities for many diverse clients.
Preparing transportation impact analysis, warrant studies, speed studies, road safety studies, and other transportation-related studies.
Performing field work, such as site review during design and in support of construction.
Gathering and analyzing various data (e.g., sight distance, crash history, infrastructure inventory) to complete special studies and make recommendations.
Providing quality control review.
Reviewing engineering plans and studies for accuracy and providing comments to other functional areas.
Assisting with business development and marketing, including developing project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and completing proposals.
Managing direct client interactions and communication with the public.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering.
A bachelor's degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, or related major.
Currently hold a CA Professional Engineers (PE) license or can obtain it through reciprocity within one year.
Experience applying Caltrans, MUTCD, AASHTO, and various city design standards on a variety of projects.
Experience developing construction documents (plans, specifications, and cost estimates) for transportation/traffic engineering projects.
Familiarity with preparing and reviewing traffic signals, signing, and striping plans.
Proficiency in traffic operations analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM).
Experience completing transportation impact analysis reports.
Two years of experience utilizing computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) in roadway design and/or traffic engineering design.
Excellent technical writing and public speaking skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and balance priorities among multiple projects.
Additional Desired Qualifications
Traffic Engineering (TE) License
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification
Knowledge in municipal work such as capital projects, state and federal requirements, and local government policy and procedures.
Compensation
The salary will be determined by the candidate's skill and experience level and is highly competitive with industry standards. The benefits package includes full employee health coverage (50% coverage for dependents), company 401(k) contribution, participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), and performance bonuses. The expected pay range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 a year.
