Position Summary:As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable solutions that power Walmart’s digital transformation for Money Services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of projects that drive our business forward.About Team:The Financial services team is responsible for providing seamless credit, lending, BNPL, money transfer and touchless mobile payment experiences to online and in-store Walmart customers.What you'll do:Technical Leadership:
Lead design and architect discussions on end-to-end solutions using modern full-stack technologies like Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud platforms to support Walmart’s digital initiatives, enabling Money Services.Application Development:
Write clean, scalable, and high-performing code using Java, Spring Boot, and React, ensuring seamless deployment in cloud environments such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Walmart Cloud Native Platform (WCNP).Mentor and Guide:
Act as a technical mentor for other engineers, providing guidance and ensuring best practices in coding, design patterns, and development methodologies.Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:
Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and align solutions with business goals.Technical Strategy:
Define and guide the Money Services technical roadmap, ensuring it aligns with broader company goals and product timelines.Quality & Security:
Implement security best practices and quality assurance to high-quality standards through code reviews, unit testing, and automated testing.Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Identify opportunities for improvement, including automation and optimization, and drive high standards in operational excellence and system observability.Minimum Qualifications:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
