Sr. Systems Administrator - WEB/IVR

We are looking for a technical and analytical professional to be responsible for performing application-level administration of OUC's customer interactive portals, including WEB and IVR self-service infrastructure.

OUC currently utilizes both the IBM WebSphere/Security Verify Access, and Genesys Voice Portal platforms to ensure functionality and availability of the self-service features. In this role, you will review and monitor system availability and take corrective actions when necessary.

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology/management information systems, Web System Administration, or Cyber-Security

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in supporting IBM WebSphere and IBM Security Verify Access or similar solutions in a production environment

Working knowledge of system administration, applying vendor provided patches, production deployments, and troubleshooting

Prior experience with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system administration preferred (or similar technologies)

Prior experience with IBM Web self-service portal infrastructure preferred (or similar technologies)

Call Routing or Call Center experience

High-availability architecture and implementations

HTTP / App Server (Microsoft IIS, WebLogics, Java, Apache )

Server Administration: UNIX, Linux, and Windows

Salary Range:

$96,600.63 - $120,751.08 annually - commensurate with experience

Job Purpose:

Ensures a stable infrastructure for assigned hardware and/or software is available seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year in support of the Commission’s critical business applications. Reviews all results daily to ensure success and takes corrective actions as necessary for those that were unsuccessful. Serves as technical subject matter expert. Provides around the clock support for emergency restoration of user files and business systems, as needed.

Primary Functions:

Provide technical analysis of system related problems and provides resolution options;

Run, interpret, and address system diagnostic and alert reports

Report metric data to Management and prepare periodic metric reports;

Monitor license and capacity to ensure incremental purchases are made at the appropriate time;

Provide periodic and as needed technical support, including after-hours enterprise infrastructure maintenance support, internal and external audit requests, and support to applications developers, Operations, and end-users;

Follow triage, SDLC, change management and other IT processes in place to promote new/revised objects to all environments;

Review vendor maintenance notifications and associated action plans;

Conduct technology reviews and planning to identify and implement new technology;

Participate in Change Management Board and IT Standards Committee members meeting;

Prepare Request for Proposal documentation in support of replacement of infrastructure components for which they support and serve as the main technical resource for evaluation of those proposed solutions;

Serve as lead liaison between business partners and staff (both technical and functional) for the identification and resolutions of issues (including 3rd parties) for assigned systems;

Manage multiple application environments while following patch/configuration management best practices to apply changes in a logical, audited sequence through environment progression (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod, etc.);

Build and maintain the technical infrastructure in support of the application needs to ensure environments (instances) are available for projects and production;

Perform assigned application deployments, application monitoring, server health monitoring, patch release planning, application service pack upgrades, framework services upgrades and performance tuning. Develop and maintain documentation regarding system functionality, performance benchmarks and system integration;

Perform assigned performance analysis, review the findings to confirm alignment with potential issues, recommendations and improvements within the application infrastructure (network hardware, database, vendor supplied); and document all issues and their resolution. (Daily issues must be documented with problem/resolution/root cause);

Evaluate existing applications/tools for their fit in a hybrid cloud infrastructure; design and recommend roadmaps, integrations, and best practices, for existing tools as well as future solutions for OUC’s hybrid cloud infrastructure;

Maintain and provide metrics for the existing integration with various cloud platforms;

Provide team support through assisting with coaching, training and mentoring and serving as the technical lead on enterprise scheduler related tasks;

Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

Working knowledge in all, but not limited to, the following (Application Services Assignment):

Enterprise scheduling applications;

SFTP Protocols and encryption;

Distributed Files Shared/Mapped Drives;

Server environments (Windows, Linux, etc.);

Hybrid Cloud Environments

Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.);

Scripting Programming Languages (Python, Perl, Java, etc.)

Software Applications to include: CC&B, MDM, JD Edwards Enterprise 1 (E1), Geographical Information systems (GIS), and Outage Management System (OMS); DA tools such as Talend, Qlik, Cognos;

Other Software Applications to include: Visio, System monitoring tools (i.e. Oracle Enterprise Manager, SCOM, Solarwinds, Splunk, etc.);

Structured methodologies such as FADE, SDLC, Agile, and other best practices;

System trace tools to capture required technical logs;

Data analysis of logs and system behavior;

System tools such as Meridian or similar technology for configuration management and functional smoke testing;

Mentoring and training as needed for technical teams and power business partners;

System technical documentation;

Technical Lead for projects including cross-functional across departments;

Lead and recommend proof of concept (POC) projects for innovation & optimization of infrastructure;

Visioning and roadmaps for products;

Data extract tools to validating data integrity;

IT Service request, change management, solution request, incident management processes and tools (BMC Footprints, Jira, etc.);

Utilize analytical abilities to process information;

Ability to respond 24/7/365; as scheduled for on-call support;

Complete related tasks in area of assignment with minimal supervision;

Understand overall business goals and how to align actions to achieve results;

Solve related problems within scope of authority, policies and guidelines;

Analyze complex problems and discover root cause of the problem; provide resolution options;

Ability to run, interpret, and/or prepare a variety of systems-related reports and documentation (i.e., metrics, diagnostic and alert, vendor maintenance notifications);

Ability to work with, sort, and distill a wide variety of data and information;

Attention to Detail;

Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, compute rates, ratio and percentages;

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) and use standard office equipment (computer, telephone, etc.).

Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study, from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education, experience or certifications may be substitutable on a 1:1 basis;

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in one of the following based on assignment: overseeing complex environments or advanced application experience with understanding of functional processes;

Application experience as described above must include a minimum two (2) years of experience with application tool set specific to the job assignment;
