(IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking an IT Engineer to be based in our Arlington office.Overview:IDT is seeking an IT Engineer to join the Information Systems team, that will deploy and maintain Linux and Windows based computing systems intended to support virtualized testing of Naval tactical systems. This job will require travel (up to 25%) to customer sites around the United States and, on occasion, internationally. Responsibilities will include Infrastructure configuration, maintenance, and Naval tactical applications troubleshooting and support. When not traveling to customer sites, duties will include creating documentation for processes, procedures, or providing remote support to internal engineers or customers.All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.Responsibilities Include:Travel to customer sites to deploy, maintain, troubleshoot on-prem virtual compute infrastructure in a classified environment. Travel can be more than 25% at times.Interact with technical members from multiple organizations in a team environment.Support land-based and “underway” test events around the U.S.Developing design documentation that can be referenced by the customer.Support various Business Area teams at IDT and customer sites.Provide end user training.Test and deploy combat systems on virtual systems.Develop solutions and processes to better support the customer and make teams more efficient.Minimum Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field of Engineering.3+ years of experience in a relevant technology field or high level of interest and conceptual knowledge of relevant technologies.Required Skills:Heavy experience with Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux (multiple distros) configuration and administration).Heavy experience with Virtualization Infrastructure with VMware or similar virtualization tools.Heavy experience with networking protocols and concepts– TCP/IP, DNS, switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls.Understanding or conceptual knowledge of container technologies such as Docker.Able to shift from one project to another in an agile work environment.Ability to travel to customer sites, at land or at sea, for deployments and event support.Preferred Skills:Some experience with automation scripts, tools and environments (ex.
